Dario Tarantino was born in Nardò in 1972. A second-generation artist, he began his artistic journey in 1992, after completing his art studies. He took his first steps in the workshop of his father, Giuseppe Tarantino, a renowned sculptor from Salento. Keeper of the secrets handed down to him, Dario works on commission with Lecce stone and marble. He expands his knowledge of craftsmanship by creating carvings and sculptures from stone wedges. Within the workshop—now developed into a company—Dario lets his creativity flow freely. He becomes interested in design, creating architectural elements, façades, and furnishing accessories.
However, in 2013 the call of clay resounded, inviting him to return to his artistic origins. In 2014, Dario met the international artist Dirk Verdoorn, who became the catalyst for a new artistic project called “InSincrono”. Sculpture, design, and music intertwine like the small pieces of a mosaic, giving life to a more conscious picture. Dario’s original artistic vision takes shape in the exaltation of Women. They become the protagonists of a new narrative in which they appear bold, dreamlike, elegant, and self-aware.
Dario and his art, permeated with a talent of deep sensitivity, travel from Nardò to Rome, reaching even the halls of the Louvre at Art Shopping in Paris. The artist also collaborates with important French galleries in Toulouse and Honfleur.
In 2019, he was selected as a semifinalist for the prestigious Premio Arte Mondadori. In 2022, the Municipality of Nardò entrusted him with the creation of a life-size bronze sculpture portraying the singer-songwriter Lucio Battisti.
Today, Dario’s vision translates into a new project. With “Legami”, the artist weaves the structure of a new story: a fascinating union between the female figure and animals, whose primitive love whispers notes to the soul.

Dario Tarantino nasce a Nardò nel 1972. Figlio d'arte, intraprende il suo percorso artistico nel 1992, dopo aver terminato gli studi d'arte. Muove i primi passi nel laboratorio del padre Giuseppe Tarantino, noto scultore salentino. Custode dei segreti tramandatogli, Dario lavora su commissione la pietra leccese e il marmo. Espande la sua conoscenza dell'artigianato, realizzando intagli e sculture da cunei di pietra. All'interno del laboratorio, oramai diventato un'azienda, Dario lascia fluire la sua creatività. S'interessa al design, progettando elementi architettonici, facciate e complementi d'arredo.
Tuttavia, nel 2013 il richiamo dell'argilla risuona, è un invito di ritorno alle sue origini artistiche. Nel 2014, Dario incontra l'artista internazionale Dirk Verdoorn, catalizzatore di un nuovo progetto artistico chiamato "InSincrono". Scultura, design e musica si intrecciano come le piccole tessere di un mosaico, dando vita a un quadro più consapevole. L'inedita visione artistica di Dario si traduce nell'esaltazione delle Donne. Esse sono le protagoniste di una nuova narrazione in cui appaiono sfrontate, sognatrici, eleganti e coscienti.
Dario e la sua arte, permeata da un talento dall'animo sensibile, viaggiano da Nardò a Roma, sino alle sale del Louvre all'Art Shopping di Parigi. L'artista collabora inoltre con importanti gallerie francesi a Toulouse e Honfleur.
Nel 2019, è scelto come semifinalista nel prestigioso Premio Arte Mondadori. Nel 2022, il Comune di Nardò gli conferisce l'incarico di plasmare una scultura in bronzo a grandezza naturale, raffigurante il cantautore Lucio Battisti.
Ad oggi, la visione di Dario si traduce in un nuovo progetto. Con "Legami", l'artista tesse l'ossatura di una nuova storia, un connubio affascinante fra la figura femminile e gli animali, il quale amore primitivo sussurra note nell'anima.

Dario Tarantino naît à Nardò en 1972. Fils d’art, il entreprend son parcours artistique en 1992, après avoir terminé ses études d’art. Il fait ses premiers pas dans l’atelier de son père, Giuseppe Tarantino, célèbre sculpteur des Pouilles. Gardien des secrets qui lui ont été transmis, Dario travaille sur commande la pierre de Lecce et le marbre. Il enrichit sa connaissance de l’artisanat en réalisant des sculptures et des gravures à partir de blocs de pierre. Au sein de l’atelier—désormais devenu une véritable entreprise—Dario laisse libre cours à sa créativité. Il s’intéresse au design, concevant des éléments architecturaux, des façades et des objets décoratifs.
Cependant, en 2013, l’appel de l’argile se fait entendre : une invitation à revenir à ses origines artistiques. En 2014, Dario rencontre l’artiste international Dirk Verdoorn, catalyseur d’un nouveau projet artistique intitulé « InSincrono ». Sculpture, design et musique s’entrelacent comme les petites tesselles d’une mosaïque, donnant vie à une vision plus consciente. La vision artistique inédite de Dario se traduit par l’exaltation des Femmes. Elles deviennent les protagonistes d’un nouveau récit où elles apparaissent impertinentes, rêveuses, élégantes et lucides.
Dario et son art, imprégnés d’un talent à l’âme sensible, voyagent de Nardò à Rome, jusqu’aux salles du Louvre lors de l’Art Shopping de Paris. L’artiste collabore également avec d’importantes galeries françaises à Toulouse et Honfleur.
